Hey! I'm Nikaela.

Photography intrigued me as a youth and I have been learning by process of elimination how not to be a photographer since I was a teen. I came back from a one week summer camp one year with 5 rolls of film for my parents to develop. Almost every frame was completely black because I had tried to take "glamour shots" of my friends down by the creek with insufficient equipment -- a.k.a. disposable cameras. From this experience I learned two things: that girls camp is not very glamorous, and I had a lot left to learn.

Shortly after meeting and marrying my husband in 2005 I started my photography business. Since then we have had two hilarious children who are now 3 and 4. My family rocks

Photography is NOT my passion. People are my passion. The unconditional affection of newly married couples, the intensity and emerging confidence of high school graduates, the wonder and laughter of parenthood. I always strive for simplicity. I never want my "creativity" as an artist to distract from the unique "glow" of my subject. I see a God-given beauty in every person I have ever come in contact with and my singular goal is to capture it so they can see it in themselves.
